Dutch-based gaming seat company Playseat has recently signed a licensing agreement with Red Bull Racing for production of amazing F1 game simulator. Targeted towards F1 fans, this simulator gives the real F1 race experience without leaving comfort of home. Playseat designed and developed this game simulator and branded with Red Bull Racing logo and features colors of Austrian F1 team.

Playseat F1 Redbull simulator reproduce accurate driving position of a Formula 1 car with seat angled back and pedals elevated which gives the feeling of sitting in a real cockpit. In addition to cool paint scheme, the simulator is upholstered with a bucket seat with vinyl upholstery and red double stitching design that looks like high quality leather. Front part of simulator is shaped like nose of a Formula 1 car. It features a fully adjustable Black coated steel framework and a G27 gearshift support.

According to Fernando Smit, founder of Playseat, the launch of Playseat F1 game seat represents final step in bringing worlds of racing and gaming seamlessly together. He said “The time that people raced, perched on a kitchen chair with a racing wheel clamped to the table, have been gone for some time now, but the new Playseat formula takes virtual racing to a completely new level. The interaction with the racing game is unrivaled. The user feels every bump in the road surface. People will experience the race as if they are real racing drivers.”

We know that the McLaren duct is vented into the cockpit around the drivers legs. Then it is their leg that closes the duct to feed the rear wing. This alters; the flow through the slot in the rear wing flap, stalling the wing, reducing drag and increasing top speed.

Sauber have already run with a vented rear wing, theirs uses the inlet on the front of the wing, to blow through a slot underneath the wing. This allows the rear wing to be steeper without stalling, for more downforce. Their new shark fin bulging with the duct moulded inside it, feeds into this same slot. they could be aiming to blow even more airflow through the slot or like McLaren alter the flow to stall the wing.

The duct on the sidepod runs through the slot in the rear wing and possibly the cockpit too.

But the flow through McLarens slot is driver controlled, so Sauber need to find a way to ‘switch’ the flow on and off. This could be done purely by the airflow being overcome by the drag creating inside the tortuous duct and hence cutting off the flow above a certain airspeed. Or they have found a way to vent the duct into the cockpit.

The hollow side impact spar coud lead into the cockpit to allow the vent to closed.

In Saubers case the duct does not pass through the footwell of the cockpit as in McLarens case, so how might they enable the driver to seal the duct? The placement of the duct may be gives us a clue. It is possible that an opening exists within the side ofthe moncoque. Sited near both the ducts inlet and running accross the frotn of the sidepod to the side of the tub is the impact spar, this could lead to an opening into the cockpit and allow the drivers elbow to seal the duct and redirect the airflow. Its not normal for teams to want to create any opening in the side of the chassis to improve stiffness and crash protection. But it is possible.

Therefore the driver presses his elbow against the opening at high speed to achieve the same stall as McLarens drivers get with their leg.

rossi-ferrari

Valentino Rossi, widely acknowledged as the greatest motorcycle racer of all time, may have a second career on something with more than two wheels. As diehard MotoGP and Formula One fans are already aware, the Italian superstar has proven to be just as fast around a race circuit when piloting a Ferrari F1 car as he is on his Yamaha motorcycle, and the Scuderia has made numerous overtures to The Doctor in an effort to get him to cross disciplines.

Apparently, outgoing Fiat Group Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo reiterated once again earlier this week that it would love to put Rossi in the driver’s seat of one of its scorching red F1 cars, saying:

We want a third car [in F1 next year] and I would do everything to have Valentino… When he wins this year’s MotoGP, enough is enough, he must also win in Formula 1.
So, is it going to happen? We have no idea, but there is some conjecture that if Rossi continues his winning ways by capturing his tenth World Championship on two wheels, it might make the decision to try his hand at F1 a bit easier to make.

I think that Rossi wil race a ferrari in 2011, with or without the 3the car.
Lets hope so!!!!!.
